Parque Enrique Tierno Galván
Enrique Tierno Galván Park
A city park with ponds and an outdoor auditorium.
The Enrique Tierno Galván Park is in the neighbourhood of Legazpi, between the old Delicias railway station, now the Railway Museum, and the M-30 ring road.
The park covers 45 hectares in what is known as Cerro de la Plata and has three ponds with small footbridges across them. Different tree species and a huge variety of flora and fauna can be found in the large meadows and the paths that criss-cross them.
The Planetarium of Madrid is located in the park, as well as an outdoor auditorium, the old IMAX cinema (closed in 2014) and a statue in honour of Enrique Tierno Galván. There are also playground areas, sports facilities, bike routes and viewpoints.
