Parque de Valdebernardo
Valdebernardo Park
A suburban forest park with very diverse areas.
Valdebernardo Forest Park is a suburban park classed as land suitable for forestry, located at the eastern end of the neighbourhood of Valdebernardo. It’s one of the large suburban forest areas in the Community of Madrid, covering a total area of 103 hectares in addition to the wooded hillsides that slope down to the motorway to Valencia and the land where Faunia theme park is located.
The northern part of this large green space in Vicálvaro has trees and aromatic shrubs planted on plots of land delimited by dirt trails. Notable features include the pond, where you can spot a large number of water birds, and the expanses of shrub beds in a rainbow of different colours. They can be viewed from the artificial hill, which also offers a panoramic view of the peaks of the Guadarrama Mountains.
Rounding out the park’s facilities are a wide variety of spaces for outdoor activities, from a walkway by the lake to themed trails to a mushroom maze, children’s areas, sports facilities and a large esplanade with a small stage where cultural events are held.
