Avenida de Portugal
The boulevard of Avenida de Portugal is located on one side of the linear park that connects with Madrid Río Park and offers views of the Royal Palace and La Almudena Cathedral.
The park and the area around the boulevard, which is built over a tunnel under the A-5 Extremadura motorway, is characterised by curved, landscaped areas with stone benches.
It features decorative mosaics with floral motifs on the pavement and blossoming cherry trees in reference to the motorway that leads to Extremadura. The cobblestones are laid out in the shape of a black and beige mosaic reminiscent of the pavements of Lisbon.
The straight course of Avenida de Portugal, which stretches for a kilometre and includes bike lanes, is surrounded on one side by residential buildings. On its other side it borders the trade fair area and other green parts of the Casa de Campo Park.
