Farmacia León
Historic pharmacy with a traditional interior design.
Farmacia León is a historic chemist’s located in the Barrio de las Letras (Literary Quarter). It dates back to 1700 and occupies one of the oldest shop premises in Madrid.
The interior décor is from the beginning of the 20th century, with wooden stands, a counter from the period and a large collection of medicine jars from the end of the 19th and the beginning of the 20th centuries.
The facade has beautiful, blue and white ceramic mosaics from the end of the 20th century. Of note is the collection of medicine jars, including pots and beakers, although a number of pieces of the pharmacy’s collection were donated to the Spanish Museum of Pharmacy.
