One of the city’s emblematic markets in the Barrio de Salamanca
The Peace Market is located in the Barrio de Salamanca and has three different entrances, one in Calle Ayala (the main one), another in Calle Lagasca and yet another in Calle Claudio Coello. It was inaugurated in 1882 following the typical iron and glass constructions of the late nineteenth century.
A very popular market in which the classic iron structure has been perfectly integrated with the modern, avant-garde design of the almost 60 commercial establishments that it houses. The result is a cosy space where you can find a mixture of local merchants with fresh produce bought daily, more exclusive gourmet products and contemporary restaurants.
