Palacio de Godoy
A classicist palace declared an “Asset of Cultural Interest” (BIC), which houses an institutional centre
The Godoy Palace is located in the heart of the Madrid de los Austrias (Hapsburg Madrid) and is currently the headquarters of the Centre for Political and Constitutional Studies, a body that reports to the Ministry of the Presidency.
The palace was designed by Francesco Sabatini at the end of the 18th century, with classical lines and a symmetric arrangement of openings and windows, with a ground, main and intermediate mezzanine floor. In its interior we should highlight the composition of the imperial style staircase in the entrance hall, which manages to achieve a visual effect that tends to increase the space around it.
Its corridors offer views of the Royal Palace, and it has many rooms such as the Shield Room and the Tapestry Room, a conference room and a number of offices.
