Parque de la Bombilla

A green area with urban elements in the city centre.

La Bombilla Park is near Príncipe Pío Station, right next to Oeste Park and a stone’s throw away from the Manzanares River. The large green area hosts everything from a classic summer outdoor film festival to the San Antonio de la Florida festivities, due to its proximity to the hermitage with the same name.

The landscaped area of the park has public squares, stepped terraces with canals of water, sports facilities like La Bombilla Municipal Sports Centre, and children’s areas. A long walk lined with mature trees that has kept its historic name -The King’s Way (Senda del Rey)- and features a meadow and all sorts of plants stands in contrast to urban features like the bridges across the rail tracks and the ubiquitous presence of graffiti and tags.
