Plaza del Conde del Valle de Suchil
Plaza del Conde del Valle de Suchil is located in the district of Chamberí, and was built in the 1950s on the site of an old cemetery. The square is notable for its elongated shape and the height of the buildings that frame the environment, much taller than the blocks in the rest of the Arapiles neighbourhood.
In the northern part of the square, two large and completely identical nine-storey blocks of flats face one another. In the southern part, there are different types of buildings, albeit it of the same height, the most noteworthy of which is the Gran Hotel Conde Duque which is very picturesque on account of its intense colours.
The paved square has a number of landscaped areas, a children’s playground, a central fountain and one of the entrances to the square is through a small passageway.
