Real Academia de Ingeniería

The Spanish Royal Academy of Engineering is an institute that promotes Spanish engineering and its different fields and disciplines. It is located in the Palacio Marqués de Villafranca, in the La Latina neighbourhood of the city’s historic centre.

This historical mansion incorporates, in its construction, part of the old Christian wall, and has a small courtyard and an iron and glass gallery, typical of the cast iron architecture of the 19th century.

The interior combines modern spaces, such as the events and plenary halls, with rooms typical of the 19th century, notably the Salón de Baile, the main staircase with its coffered ceiling and the library.
