Teatro de la Luz Philips Gran Vía

The Teatro de la Luz Philips Gran Vía, located on Gran Vía, is one of the historical venues on this century-old Avenue. Its origin goes back to 1944, when it used to be the Cine Gran Vía. After undergoing refurbishment, it became a space for the performing arts in 2004, with a capacity for 950 people.

The building, designed by Germán Álvarez Sotomayor, has a rationalist style, several dressing rooms, a bar area and an impressive hall.

The Teatro de la Luz Philips Gran Vía has a varied programme featuring the best musical theatre productions, all manner of concerts, dance, ballet, flamenco, and comedy shows. A key venue in the artistic history of the Gran Vía Avenue from an international and cosmopolitan point of view.
