Madrid Film Office, the audiovisual division of Madrid City Council, is a public service whose mission is to promote the city of Madrid as a filming location and production centre while supporting the growth and development of the city’s audiovisual sector.
Madrid Film Office provides assistance to creators, companies and professionals working in Madrid throughout the development of their projects, offering support from the early stages of pre-production through to promotion.
By supporting and strengthening the audiovisual sector, the wider creative industries and the broad range of services connected to them, Madrid Film Office aims to drive economic development and enhance Madrid’s international profile while increasing the city’s appeal for residents, workers and visitors.
What we do
- We support productions shooting in the city by assisting with location scouting, guiding them through location scouting, mediating with municipal departments and other public bodies, and offering advice on logistics as well as information on companies and professionals working in Madrid.
- We promote the city and its audiovisual industry at national and international festivals, markets and industry events to attract and encourage production in Madrid.
- We help create and support meeting spaces and industry forums in the city to foster project development and encourage collaboration between creators, producers, service companies and other stakeholders.
- We work to strengthen the audiovisual sector in Madrid by collaborating closely with professional associations and the private sector.
- We carry out studies and projects aimed at improving the collection and publication of data on the scale, impact and potential of Madrid’s audiovisual sector, considering industrial, sociocultural and tourism perspectives.
- We work to support more sustainable audiovisual production, taking social, economic and environmental factors into account.
- We ensure that Madrid is as film-friendly as possible by improving filming conditions and promoting a more even distribution of activity across the city’s 21 districts.
- We highlight the work and commitment of all the departments of Madrid City Council to the audiovisual sector.
- We promote Madrid’s audiovisual heritage and support screen tourism in the city.
