Entorno Biblioteca y Centro Cultural Gloria Fuertes
Located in the Corralejos neighbourhood of the Barajas district, Madrid City Council’s Gloria Fuertes Library and Cultural Centre are housed in the same building, a new project by architect Carmen Blanco Hernández to house the Centre and the only library that currently serve the residents of Barajas.
The library is located on the first and second floors, and from its large windows you can see the remains of the rebuilt castle of the Zapata family, the only castle still standing in the municipality of Madrid, and an extensive olive grove that borders what is today Juan Carlos I Park.
It has an exhibition hall, four classrooms, and a reading and study room.
