Centro Deportivo Municipal Moratalaz

A complete sports centre with facilities for multiple disciplines.

Moratalaz Municipal Sports Centre is located in the neighbourhood of the same name in the south side of the city. With more than 100,000 square metres of facilities, it is one of the city’s most complete municipal sports complexes.

One of its highlights is its extensive outdoor athletics track which includes a jumping and throwing facility in its interior, where athletes can practice such field competitions as long jump, high jump, javelin throwing and shot-putting. Surrounded by a grandstand, national athletics championships are held on this track.

It has an archery range, two pelota courts and a skating rink. The centre also has two swimming pools (one indoor and another covered one) with a cafeteria and shaded areas furnished with tables and chairs. Due to ongoing refurbishment, neither the pools nor the tennis courts are currently open.

The facilities are completed with the following amenities:

  • Indoors: a sports hall, fitness room, a martial arts room and a multipurpose room (psychomotor skills, multipurpose room).
  • Outdoors: a football pitch (with artificial turf), 3 indoor football courts, a basketball court, a skating rink, 4 paddle tennis courts and 1 beach volleyball court.
