Colonia San Vicente de Paúl
The San Vicente de Paúl housing estate was built in 1949 in the Abrantes neighbourhood.
It is located in the south-east of Carabanchel, in a large green wedge that culminates in the Glorieta Elíptica roundabout. Its discreet and austere apartment blocks are set in a quiet and self-sufficient urban environment, with a market, schools, a church and recently refurbished sports facilities.
The estate’s church is of note, with a prominent tower that gives the neighbourhood its identity, a triumphal arch entrance and a side façade with concrete buttresses.
