Colonia Virgen del Pilar

Colonia Virgen del Pilar was built in the 1940s by the National Housing Institute.

It consists of a series of four-storey residential blocks, which create three courtyards between them. The courtyards are accessed from the street or through alleys, creating an interesting maze of open areas, gardens, passageways and stairs.

Despite its proximity to the bustling Avenida de América, the height of the buildings in maroon and beige red tones, the large green and pedestrianised areas and the uniformity of the buildings, make the estate a calm and quiet place.
