Entorno del Centro de Salud, Especialidades médicas y Central telefónica de Pavones
The area around the Pavones Health Centre, Medical Specialities and Telephone Exchange
The Pavones neighbourhood, in the Moratalaz district, is home to an interesting group of buildings that house the Health Centre, the Medical Specialities Centre – a prime example of hospital architecture from 1968 – and the Telephone Exchange, built in 1976.
The building that houses Pavones Health Centre is of particular note. Designed in 1999 by three young architects (Sergio de Miguel García, Jesús Ulargui Agurruza and Eduardo Pesquera), it is a striking, seemingly compact block of prefabricated concrete, surrounded by a network of walls and low structures with a repeating prefabricated framework
