Escuela Municipal de Música Ágata

The Ágata Municipal School of Music is a publicly owned education centre that shares a building with the cultural centre of the same name. Located in the heart of Villaverde, the building occupies a corner at one of the district’s nerve centres: Plaza de Ágata. This open space, lined with pedestrian areas and trees, brings together local commerce, public transport and social life, near Villaverde’s Plaza Mayor.

The red-brick building, with its broad glass façades, exemplifies the cultural architecture of the late 1980s, typical of civic centres with social and cultural functions. It comprises four floors shared between the two municipal institutions, with common areas and an auditorium. The music school offers instruction for up to 200 students and contains 7 classrooms: 5 for instrumental subjects and 2 for theory.
