Escuela Municipal de Música y Danza Plácido Domingo

The Plácido Domingo Municipal School of Music and Dance is a publicly owned institution located near Plaza de Daoiz y Velarde in the Retiro district. The area is also home to other public facilities, such as the Daoiz y Velarde Cultural Centre and the District Council building, both restored structures that once formed part of the former barracks of the same name.

The school provides music and dance education for up to 600 students. It has 12 classrooms: 3 for theoretical subjects, 6 for instrumental instruction and 3 for dance. The facilities also include an auditorium with seating for approximately 190 people.

The building features a mix of atmospheres and retains its exposed brickwork in the interior renovation, complemented by large windows that flood the spaces with natural light and acoustic insulation suitable for musical and performing use.
