Four Seasons Hotel Madrid

Elegance and sophistication in a luxury hotel right in the city centre.

Four Seasons Hotel Madrid is a new hotel in Centro Canalejas, a renovated complex in central Madrid with an area of over 50,000 square metres which occupies seven historic buildings with different architectural styles that once belonged to old banks. They have now been restored and their interiors have been redesigned.

The building that houses the Four Seasons hotel was originally the headquarters of La Equitativa insurance company. Built in 1887, it is known as both La Equitativa Palace and the Banco Español de Crédito building, and is located where Calle de Alcalá meets Calle de Sevilla. This junction, which has a spectacular roundabout crowned with a copper dome, offers an iconic view which, following the restoration works, once again adds to the rich heritage and architecture of this stately part of the city.

Four Seasons is a five-star hotel with 200 guest rooms, including 39 suites, all of which are very spacious and boast magnificent views. Some of them have two levels connected by a small staircase, some have balconies and others have large private terraces.

The hotel’s spaces include inviting meeting and event rooms such as the oval-shaped Sol Ballroom (520 square metres) or the more intimate Canalejas Ballroom. Redesigned in a contemporary style that preserves historic elements, they are open-plan spaces with plenty of natural light that can be set up in a range of ways.

The hotel’s common areas are particularly notable due to the presence of over 3,000 original features that have been restored and reinstalled, alongside numerous contemporary art works. The magnificent lobby boasts marble columns, golden capitals and the building’s original stained-glass window, but its crowning glory is the impressive oval staircase. An indoor pool, gym, 4-floor luxury spa, beauty salon and a host of other amenities and services round out the offerings.

The hotel also has bars and restaurants on the first floor, like the inviting Isa Gastro Bar, and in the bank’s former operations hall, like the restaurant El Patio. Set against a wonderful skyline on the rooftop, which has its own separate entrance from Calle de Sevilla, is the restaurant Dani Brasserie. It’s a space with a sophisticated design that combines a casual atmosphere with the exoticism of colonial-style decor.
