Plaza de Chueca is a paved square in the centre of the Chueca neighbourhood, which is considered Madrid’s LGBT (lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender) neighbourhood.
It is a busy open space with several shops and restaurants, ranging from traditional to more modern, with their respective terraces, mainly aimed at a young urban public.
Trees line the east and west sides of the square and in the middle is the Chueca metro station entrance, a popular meeting point. To the north, the square leads on to Calle de Gravina, a single-lane, cobblestone street that is restricted to traffic.
