Puente de Segovia

The work of architect Juan de Herrera, Puente de Segovia bridge was built in 1584 in the Renaissance style. It is characterised by the use of dressed granite ashlars and its nine semicircular arches.

It is the oldest bridge in the city and one of its main entrances, having undergone various renovations over the years. Used by both vehicles and pedestrians, stairways have been added to allow people to access the bridge from either side.

Looking to the north-east, there are panoramic views of La Almudena Cathedral and the Royal Palace, framed by the banks of Manzanares River, the Gardens of Virgen del Puerto and Campo del Moro Park.
