Colonia Diplomáticos
The Diplomats housing estate is a well-known residential area in Aravaca, surrounded by green areas such as Club de Campo Villa de Madrid country club, Casa de Campo Park and Puerta de Hierro Club.
Also nearby is the AMYC Foundation House Museum, created in 2009 by collector and art patron Francisco Daurella with the aim of introducing the people of Madrid to 19th- and 20th- century Catalan and Mediterranean art. To create his House-Museum, he recovered, restored and renovated a 2,000 m2 private house with a 1,000 m2 garden.
Also in this residential area is the former Casa Estudio Ridruejo, a surprising administrative building from 1974 with a chameleon-like multi-purpose character (it serves as a residence, a studio and an office), an example of the architectural diversity of the Aravaca neighbourhood.
