COLONIA MINGORRUBIO
The Mingorrubio housing estate dates back to 1951 and is located on land belonging to the El Pardo mountain, to the north of the town of the same name.
The estate is made up of three streets running parallel to the road, following the contours of the land, and several streets running perpendicular to it, forming 15 large enclosed blocks containing 345 two-storey terraced houses with backyards.
They form a continuous line of exposed brick buildings with large slate roofs and attics, surrounded by trees and set in an area of considerable ecological interest. Another 24 houses were built in the 1960s, breaking with the initial uniformity by not using brick on the façades.
On the other side of the road, there is a school, sports fields, a church built in 1981 and the El Pardo Sports Association building.
The streets that make up the estate are: Calle Almenas, Calle Campaña, Calle Escuadrón, Calle Fortaleza and the main road to Colmenar Viejo.
